Receiving shipping rates from FedEx service in real timeRevision date: Oct 30, 2007
To be able to receive shipping rates from FedEx service in real time, you need to have a FedEx account and to complete end-user certification with FedEx. The certification is simple and is available to you at no cost. Here is what you need to do to complete FedEx end-user certification: Call FedEx at 1-877-339-2774 to request FedEx Web Integrated Solutions certification. At the voiceprompt say "web API". When live voice comes, say you would like to certify your API application. FedEx tech representative will ask you a few questions. If you are acting as a "corporate developer" (requesting certification just for your own X-Cart store), be prepared to provide the following information:
If you are acting as a "consultant" (requesting certification for an X-Cart store that has been deployed by you for someone else), be prepared to provide information about both you and your customer. Information about you:
Information about your purchasing customer:
The tech representative will request the following information:
FedEx will use the contact information you provided to send you instructions as to how to complete the certification process. Basically, you will be required to submit to WIS Certification Team your Operating Scenario and a signed copy of FedEx End-User License Agreement. An operating scenario is a one-page document communicating the intended use of the WIS solution by your business. Shortly after the phone call, you will receive a copy of FedEx End-User License Agreement (EULA) and instructions on the creation of your operating scenario (download the draft operating scenario). If you are a consultant, your purchasing customer will also be provided with a blank copy of the FedEx EULA that they will need to sign and send back to FedEx. The customer's copy of the FedEx EULA will be accompanied with a fax cover sheet stating the customer's account number and contact information. Be sure to include this fax cover sheet when submitting your operating scenario and signed copy of the FedEx EULA to FedEx, so the WIS Certification Team will be able to identify your request. FAILURE TO INCLUDE THE PROVIDED FAX COVER SHEET WILL SIGNIFICANTLY DELAY THE CERTIFICATION TIMELINE. Fax the operating scenario and the EULA to the following number: 1-440-348-2329 Your operating scenario will be reviewed to ensure that it meets FedEx specifications and requirements necessary for certification. The WIS Certification Team will respond within 3 business days with the evaluation results. If your operating scenario is approved, you will be certified. |
