X-Cart features password protected administrative access and an intrusion detection system which notifies a store administrator if someone fails to log in.

All the changes are applied in real-time. You can experiment on and test different combinations until you find the best solution that suits your today's and tomorrow's needs. With the X-Cart ecommerce shopping software you can avoid expenses occurred every time you need to implement a new feature.

X-Cart allows you to have practically unlimited number of administrator accounts. Administrator account is used to watch over the whole store, control and configure it, manage user accounts (including customer, partner, provider and admin accounts). Administrator account user can add products on behalf of any provider, as well as delete/modify products of any provider for anti-abuse purposes.

You can use administrator account for control and configuring the whole store, working with manual credit card processing, managing user accounts, etc. The exception is the administrator account called "fulfillment staff" account (a "fulfillment staff" administrator has access only to orders and statistics).

You can easily specify the representation of using dates and times with user-defined date and time formats.

X-Cart allows you to modify products in two ways: you can either modify separate products one by one or simultaneously edit multiple products. When multiple products are edited simultaneously, you can make changes to just one product out of the group and apply them to all the rest of the products being edited.

You can easily manage enable/disable option for products and categories by switching with one click.

You can set primary currency symbol. At that all prices and customer charges will be calculated using the primary currency. The alternative currency symbol is used to express your prices in the units of another currency. You can specify the alternative currency exchange rate and a symbol to be used for the alternative currency, if you want the price in alternative currency units to appear in brackets next to the primary currency price. If you leave the alternative currency symbol field blank you can use only the primary currency symbol.

If you need to temporarily close your store for maintenance, you can do that at any time with just a couple of clicks. While the customer zone of your store is closed, the visitors trying to access the storefront are redirected onto a special page with a message that the store is temporarily inaccessible and may be visited at a later time. A sample of the Shop is closed page is furnished with every distribution package and will be used by default for closing your storefront, however, you can design your own html page for this purpose.

X-Cart allows you to set default shipping address for non-registered customers. This information is used in real-time shipping calculations. The price of delivery is calculated depending on this shipping address and the chosen method.

X-Cart allows your to compare the status of the store files before and after modification and to discover which files have been deleted, added or modified.

The first system fingerprint in your store is generated automatically at the time of X-Cart installation. This system fingerprint reflects the original unmodified state of the system. Later, you can get X-Cart to generate more system fingerprints.

Any system fingerprint can be compared with the current state of the store or with any other fingerprint. Comparing fingerprints allows X-Cart to detect any changes in /xcart directory. As a result of comparing fingerprints, you get a list of files which have been modified, added or lost (removed from the system or renamed so they cannot be identified).

X-Cart has the ability to keep logs of errors and other information about the store functioning. The General settings->Logging options section allows the store admin to select, which logs need to be kept.
The following logs are available:

• log of backups and database restorations;
• log of file operations performed via X-Cart interface;
• log of operations on orders (removal, editing, updating of statuses);
• log of operations on products (removal, editing, updating of statuses);
• log of transaction errors which may occur when payments are made via online payment gateways;
• log of realtime shipping modules errors;
• log of PHP and SQL errors;
• log of changes in environment settings (php.ini and the active HTTPS bouncer).

The store administrator/providers can view customer wish lists. Existing Wish lists can be found through the 'Search for wish lists' section of the store's Admin or Provider back-end.

The store administrator now has the ability to temporarily disable accounts of other users:

• to suspend login for specific users;
• to forbid activity for specific users (for provider accounts to disable all the products of a specific provider, for partner accounts to disable the addition of commission payments).

X-Cart allows you to choose a format for fractional numbers that will be used in the store (prices, weights);

Maintenance Agent module enables X-Cart to send email notifications to the store administrator with information about the store functioning during a certain period. These notifications can include visits statistics, orders statistics, various log messages (error logs, logs of file operations, DB backup/restore operations, data import, changes of environment settings, operations on products and orders, etc).
