My name is Yauheni Tamashevich and I’m the CEO of SpurIT company, which fires on all cylinders in the area of e-commerce development. It is the first announce of our company in the official blog of X-Cart. Moreover we are the first company that was awarded official status of certified modules developer for X-Cart 5. That’s why it’s very exciting and this excitement is pleasant!
It is especially pleasant to be the first in the environment where everything is made on the highest level. This is the exact way how I can characterize the work of X-Cart 5 developers team. It is not just laudatory words or another commercial that gives a long song and dance to draw additional clients’ attention. I can assess the quality of a product because I hold a degree in programming and spent a lot of time on PHP programming.
I used to program for many shopping carts and in a fit of temper, many swear words were sent to the developers of these platforms. Hah, hope that it hasn’t affected their karma. The reasons were different, from bad or obviously terrible creators’ approach to development of shopping cart’s platform and existence of stupid bugs, up to extremely difficult and complicated system, which consequently becomes a headache for a client.
The time ticked by, I became a director of an IT-company, but I still hadn’t met ( or heard a recommendation from my colleagues and acquaintances) anything, which I could describe as: “Yeah, this shopping cart is cool from all points of view!”
Once, when we were considering different ways of development in e-commerce area, I found a new shopping cart platform called LiteCommerce. Frankly speaking, I don’t even remember whether it was Google who tracked me to it or if someone of my fellow programmers advised it. Anyway it doesn’t matter. One of the reasons why I payed attention to it was that it is developed by Russian team. Our company is located in the Republic of Belarus and we are neighbors and friends of the Russians!
Having familiarized ourselves with this platform architecture, our team was impressed by the approach and quality of the development from the programming point of view. “Hey, guys! Where have you been earlier?!” – the voice in my head shouted.

“Hey, guys! Where have you been earlier?!” – the voice in my head shouted. Ahhh…actually I said: “Yes, this shopping cart is cool!”. Finally, the day I was longing for, has come.
Later LiteCommerce evolved into X-Cart 5 and we understood that this platform will have a bright future. At least programmers will appreciate it and it is under marketing department’s responsibility to raise awareness of ordinary clients who are not into programming about advantages of X-Cart 5. Marketing experts are worth their salt yet. 😉
Oh, this platform has one more advantage over the other. You may disagree, but we find it rather valuable. It is almost impossible to develop modules ( themes and modifications, too) for X-Cart 5 if you are not experienced enough. Its architecture is such, that newbies will consider it to be unknowable black box. But the true programming experts will understand that it is very convenient and well designed. It significantly reduces the risks for clients, because only experts can operate with this platform! And we, as developers, would not have to swear when redoing a project given to us by a client after good-for-nothing programmers.
In conclusion, I’d like to say that I and my colleagues are very happy that there are good projects and people who do their work with high level of professionalism. I wish developers of X-Cart to carry on and to conquer the world in the nearest future! Or at least the world of e-commerce! And SpurIT will be your assistant.
Oh, yes! Check out our modules developed for X-Cart 5: Wishlist, Customers Who Purchased, SocialEngine Connector, Stock Chart, Abandoned Orders Recovering. You’re very welcome to ask your questions about these modules in this thread of X-Cart community forum.
