X-Cart POS released and beta-testers awarded; X-Cart 5.1 released and goes Freemium!
Today we have 3 important announcements, and each is actually worth a separate detailed blogpost. So get ready to a long read! The beta-testing of X-Cart Point of Sale is finally finished, and so is the beta-stage of X-Cart 5.1 with Bootstrap and a responsive skin on the board. And the release of 5.1 means a switch to freemium model we have already written about the last week. More details below.
X-Cart 5 goes Freemium with the release of v.5.1
With the release of version 5.1.x, we will offer a Free Edition. This edition will replace the Mobile Edition being sold for $99 currently (the Mobile Edition will no longer be available for purchase after this switch). The Free Edition will have exactly the same set of features but not the Mobile Skin, which will be excluded from the package to become an independent paid module. The Free Edition users will have free lifetime access to the core upgrades.
Version 5.0.14 available
Upgrade scripts - this is the only thing which was addressed in this release. Do not expect any new features this time. It's for those who experienced a problem with the upgrade to version 5.0.13, and had to keep using version 5.0.12. There were not that many stores, as it's reproduced in a particular environment only, yet it was important to address this issue - we stand for the statement that the upgrade procedure in our new-generation platform is smooth, seamless and quick.
5.0.13: WebMaster kit, Custom skin, Disqus, Olark Chat; 5.1.0 Beta: Responsive template, Fulfillment Statuses, Bootstrap, Less
5.0.13 and 5.1.Beta. 5 new modules, improvements of core.
X-Cart 5.0.12: Robokassa Integration added; Canada Post updated
5.0.12 has become available. This version is aimed at "polishing" our new-generation platform: implementing minor design improvements, enhancements to existing features, bug fixes. This time, the only new module is "Robokassa". An existing module, "Canada Post", has been significantly enhanced.
X-Cart 5.0.11: Sage Pay, Stripe, Add To Cart Popup, Related products, Product Reviews
One month passed from the moment when the release of X-Cart 5 was announced, and we're already rolling out an update with several notable improvements. Two new payment gateways, gift certificates, abandoned cart reminder, improved customer experience on checkout, upselling tools, product reviews and more. Plus compatibility with X-Cart POS, which is currently in BETA, but coming soon.
X-Cart 5 Downloadable Released
We created a product which will be very useful for merchants and very flexible for developers. I believe that ability to tailor the eCommerce software to your business logic and business processes is extremely important since every single company is unique. Building an online store either for a startup or for a huge enterprise, sooner or later you will realize this necessity. So we're very confident that X-Cart 5 is definitely the right product for this.
Public Beta Testing of X-Cart 5 Announced
Our team has done a great job to create a completely new platform: with X-Cart 5 you will enjoy quick and easy upgrades, flexibility in customization and modern UI. Now we're announcing Beta-testing, with the stable release being expected in a couple of months. Just out of curiosity or because of promised award (we're giving out 30 licenses!), you may want to play with it, report the issues, share the ideas and thus help us to make it better!
