Case Study: How Doetsch Motorsports Upgraded Its Digital Garage with X-Cart

Doetsch Motorsports is a big name in the world of Jeeps and trucks. They run a successful physical store where they sell parts and do installations. But the Marketing Director, Colin Davis, knew they had a problem: While their walk-in business was strong, their online store felt like an old engine.

Challenge: A Website Stuck in the Past

The company’s website was built on a custom GoDaddy platform. As the business grew, they realized they needed a more advanced, automotive-first solution to meet their new goals for eCommerce. Their main goals were to:

  • Find a modern and scalable platform
  • Improve the site structure and user experience
  • Automate tasks to save time
  • Connect with their parts suppliers for live inventory

This last point was critical. Doetsch Motorsports works with three main suppliers: Premier, Turn14, and Meyer. A new platform had to integrate with them.

Solution: X-Cart

Doetsch Motorsports found X-Cart through a Google search, and it quickly became clear that our platform was the right tool for the job.

The number one reason they chose X-Cart was its native integrations. The platform connected seamlessly with all three of their distributors. The integration with Premier, their main supplier, was a key factor, which allowed for live inventory and price syncs and solved one of their biggest headaches.

The two biggest problems we needed to solve were integration with multiple distributors and live inventory for each.

Beyond the supplier connections, X-Cart offered powerful marketing tools right out of the box. The abandoned cart email feature helped them recover lost sales, and they also easily connected their MailChimp account to build out their email marketing campaigns.

Results: A Fast Launch and a Road to Growth

The switch to X-Cart in February 2025 brought immediate benefits.

Overall, the X-Cart team has been excellent. Our site was able to launch quickly with all of the integrations and APIs connected and operational.

They started on a plan that supports up to 100,000 products, with a goal to expand to over 250,000 in the future. The new platform gave them the power and flexibility they lacked before.

Our setup is constantly evolving. I have implemented Google and META feeds and would like to expand our email marketing and retargeting features. I have not had the team develop new features, but I have given feedback on features that I think would be positive advancements for future deployment.
